This course intends to engage ministry and church leaders to explore important influences on the mental health of the congregant and others that they serve. This course includes foundations of Christian theology, revelation, and Holy Scripture. Emphasis will be on how these topics are processed in a church setting. Lectures will cover a psychospiritual model of stress, basic biblical exegesis for counseling, dignity therapy, Christian self-care, and special needs ministry. This will be accomplished via lectures, discussions, information from the Lausanne global classroom on disability, and performing exegetical research on counseling scriptures.
