Over 60% of the places mentioned in the Bible are found in Turkey, known as the “Second Holy Land.” While in exile on the Greek island of Patmos, near the shoreline of southeastern Turkey (Asia Minor), Jesus Christ spoke to John in a vision. 

These words to the seven churches are found in the first three chapters of the book of Revelation. 

The messages of Jesus to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamos, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea are worth examining today for its power and insight into our Christian faith. These short and concise “letters” reveal the struggles and strengths, warnings and praises addressed to the churches. We will review the main ideas embedded in these sermons to the churches, which is as relevant today as they were during the first century.
